How the ranking works
1. Collecting the data
We collect publicly available data on pest control companies in 40 cities: Google reviews, company websites, certification registers and Chamber of Commerce records.
2. Scoring on fixed criteria
Every company is scored on three criteria with a fixed weighting: online reviews (40%), certificates and accreditations (35%) and years of experience (25%).
3. The jury decides
An independent jury of ten international experts reviews the preliminary ranking and decides which company receives Gold, Silver and Bronze in each city.
The best pest control by city
From Amsterdam to Zwolle: for 40 cities you will find the three best pest controllers here, with Gold, Silver and Bronze. Pick your city and see who scores best near you.
An independent jury of ten experts
The final ranking is decided by ten international pest management experts: scientists and practitioners from the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Germany. They have no business ties to the companies they assess.
Meet the juryPest control in the Netherlands: what you need to know
Pest control covers everything that deals with nuisance animals and insects in and around buildings. It ranges from mouse and rat control in homes, restaurants and commercial premises to wasp nest removal in summer, bed bug treatment in hotels and bedrooms, cockroach control in kitchens and woodworm treatment in beams and furniture. Ants, fleas, silverfish, moles and pigeon problems fall under it too. A good pest controller does not just remove the pest, but also looks at the cause and at how you can stop it coming back.
Why choose a certified pest controller? Pest control often involves biocides, and their use is regulated. Dutch law only allows professional products to be used by someone with a valid EVM certificate of competence, in line with the Plant Protection Products and Biocides Act. Quality marks such as the KAD-keurmerk, the KPMB quality mark (Keurmerk Plaagdiermanagement Bedrijven) and CPMV show that a company follows the IPM approach: prevention and non-chemical methods first, pesticides only when needed. That is safer for you, your pets and the environment, and usually more effective in the long run.
The Nationale Ongediertebestrijding Awards (National Pest Control Awards) help you find a reliable pest control company near you quickly. Instead of comparing scattered reviews, you can see at a glance which three pest controllers in your city score best on reviews, certifications and experience, and which companies make the national top 5. The rankings are based on publicly available data and are checked by an independent jury. Companies cannot buy a listing, and every link to their websites is nofollow. So you know that Gold, Silver or Bronze has genuinely been earned.
